Solenzo: On the occasion of the Tabaski prayer, Imam Mohamed Konat© invited each Muslim faithful to make their mea culpa before sacrificing their sheep this Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at the Grand Mosque of Solenzo. Imam Mohamed Konat©, in his sermon after the two rak’ahs, offered blessings and called for forgiveness and the fear of God.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Imam emphasized that the essence of the Tabaski celebration is not in the physical act of sacrificing the sheep, but in the spiritual values it symbolizes. “The meat and blood of the sheep do not reach God, but it is what we hold in our hearts, such as forgiveness, religious tolerance, and love of neighbor. We do not slaughter the sheep to please a person, but to show our attachment to God,” he affirmed in his sermon.

Following the messages of blessings, Imam Konat© proceeded to sacrifice his ram, marking the commencement of the ritual for the Muslim community. This act symbolized the readiness for others to follow suit in the spirit of faith and submission.

The event was graced by the presence of High Commissioner Sanfi©nal© Joseph Sirima, along with customary leaders and representatives from other religious denominations. They were joined by the commander of BIR 18, the provincial director of police, and the director of water and forests as they visited thousands of Muslim worshippers at the great mosque of Solenzo.

In his address, High Commissioner Sirima extended his wishes for a joyful Eid to all Muslim brothers, urging the community to uphold peace and religious tolerance. He also encouraged support for the sick and vulnerable, advocating for a collective effort to provide for those in need.
