Zoundw©ogo/Tabaski 2026: Imam Salifou Ouanga Calls for Peace and Social Cohesion in Manga


Zoundw©ogo: Imam Salifou Ouanga of Manga invited Muslim faithful on Wednesday to give thanks to God, to preserve peace and to strengthen social cohesion in Burkina Faso, during the great Tabaski prayer celebrated in the presence of regional, administrative, customary, and religious authorities of the Nazinon region.



According to Burkina Information Agency, the Muslim faithful of Manga celebrated the Tabaski festival in an atmosphere of fraternal communion and solidarity. The main prayer was led by Imam Salifou Ouanga. In his sermon, he urged the faithful to give thanks to God, to preserve peace, and to strengthen social cohesion in Burkina Faso.



Imam Salifou Ouanga also welcomed the presence of the governor of the Nazinon region alongside the Muslim faithful, as well as representatives of the Catholic and Evangelical communities. He also indicated that the main invocations made during the Eid al-Adha prayer focused on the definitive return of peace to Burkina Faso, living together, and strengthening social cohesion between the different communities.



The governor of the Nazinon region, Massadalo Yvette Nacoulma, reaffirmed her solidarity and that of the government with the Muslim community, while praising its contribution to efforts for peace, social cohesion, and stability in Burkina Faso. ‘Our solidarity with the Muslim community and Muslim faithful in the Nazinon region is that of all of Burkina Faso. Through you, we want to wish a happy celebration of the Tabaski festival to all Muslim faithful in the Nazinon region and Burkina Faso,’ she said.



She expressed the wish that the sacrifices, prayers, and invocations of this festival would be accepted by Allah in order to contribute to the maintenance of peace, stability, and social cohesion in the country. The governor also praised the Muslim community’s contribution to security and peacebuilding efforts, while expressing her appreciation for the government’s continued support for development initiatives.



At the end of the prayer, blessings were said for the administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) as well as the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), engaged in the fight against insecurity.
