Tuy/Tabaski 2026: Imam Cheick Sidi Mohamed Sana Advocates for Peace and Unity


Hound©: Imam Cheick Sidi Mohamed Sana of the Tidjania community of Hound© called, this Wednesday, May 27, 2026, for peace, social cohesion, and forgiveness on the occasion of the great prayer of Eid el-Kebir, known as Tabaski, celebrated in the presence of administrative and municipal authorities.



According to Burkina Information Agency, in the city of Hound©, the large prayer service took place at several locations. At the Jean Barry school complex in Hound©, Imam Cheick Sidi Mohamed Sana led the service for the Tijaniyya community. The Imam urged the people of Burkina Faso to promote peace, social cohesion, and forgiveness. “On this day of Tabaski, the message I would like to send to all Muslim faithful is a message of peace, social cohesion, and forgiveness,” he remarked.



The religious leader emphasized the importance of unity and brotherhood among Muslims and non-Muslims to foster a harmonious society. He also offered prayers for peace in Burkina Faso and sought divine protection and assistance for the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in securing the national territory.



The ceremony was graced by a delegation of administrative and municipal authorities led by the High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda. The provincial authority expressed solidarity with the Muslim community, extending wishes for a joyous holiday.



Issiaka Segda delivered a message emphasizing peace and social cohesion and called on community leaders to promote calm and unity. He encouraged the faithful to unite for the development of the country and the consolidation of peace, and invited Muslim worshippers to pray for the Defense and Security Forces engaged on various fronts.
