Nayala: Imam Lassina Par© urged the Muslim faithful of Toma on Wednesday to strengthen unity, living together and to continue prayers for the definitive return of peace to Burkina Faso on the occasion of the Eid al-Adha prayer. The prayer held at the Grand Mosque of Toma was led by Imam Assami Par©, son of Imam Lassina Par©, in the presence of the High Commissioner of the Nayala Province, Honor© Fr©d©ric Par©, accompanied by the First Vice-President of the Special Delegation of Toma.

According to Burkina Information Agency, in his sermon, Imam Assami Par© invited the faithful to increase their prayers, acts of charity, reading of the Holy Quran, and mutual respect. He reminded everyone that Tabaski is a festival of gratitude to Allah, marked by sharing, love of neighbor, and solidarity. He also emphasized the sacred nature of the sheep sacrifice for any devout Muslim who can afford it.

Speaking at the event, Imam Lassina Par© stressed the need to preserve unity between communities and to maintain prayers for peace and social cohesion. He praised the efforts of the administrative authorities in the fight against terrorism and for the preservation of social cohesion in the province of Nayala.

The imam’s deputy, Dramane Par©, along with several notables, offered blessings to the administrative authorities, the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), imploring God for a definitive return of peace to Burkina Faso.

In his message, High Commissioner Honor© Fr©d©ric Par© commended the Muslim community for its commitment to social cohesion. He also expressed his support for the security forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) engaged in securing the province, praying for their protection and success in their missions.

Mr. Par© also expressed wishes for good rainfall to ensure a fruitful agricultural campaign for the benefit of the people of Nayala and the whole of Burkina Faso. The representative of the canton chief, Mr. Gassan Baba Sylvain Olympe Par©, also called on the people to unite and to offer sustained prayers for the fighting forces.
