Tougan: Muslim communities in Niaogho gathered in unity to celebrate Eid el-Kebir on Wednesday morning. The event, presided over by Imam Hamed Compaor©, was held on the communal grounds, with the presence of administrative, customary, and religious authorities, as well as various social groups within the commune.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the imam’s representative, Zakaria Compaor©, delivered a message emphasizing that the Tabaski festival is an opportunity for joyful reunions, love, and forgiveness. He highlighted that this celebration calls on the people to enhance unity, peace, and solidarity among the citizens of Burkina Faso. “As the festival approaches, everyone is preparing to celebrate joyfully. It’s the Feast of the Sacrifice,” he stated.

The imam further urged the community to support the authorities’ efforts towards peace, unity, and development in the country. Dramane Compaor©, the first vice-president of the special delegation of the commune of Niaogho, commended the people’s mobilization and acknowledged the presence of diverse social components at the religious celebration. He pointed out that the Tabaski festival serves as a platform for strengthening social cohesion within the community.

He also expressed gratitude to the various communities who joined Muslim worshippers in celebrating the holiday, fostering a spirit of brotherhood and communal living. A representative from other social groups confirmed their support for their “Muslim brothers” to promote social cohesion and harmonious coexistence.

The ceremony was marked by an atmosphere of fraternal communion and prayers for peace across Burkina Faso.
