Sissili/Tabaski 2026: Imam Sadou Ou©draogo of Boura Calls on All Burkinabe to Unite

Sissili: Muslim worshippers in the commune of Boura celebrated Eid al-Adha 2026 in an atmosphere of religious fervor and devotion. Departing from the Friday mosque, believers from several villages in the commune gathered in the prayer area prepared for the occasion to perform the large communal prayer.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the heart of this gathering, Muslim faithful expressed wishes for security, stability, and harmonious coexistence in Burkina Faso, as well as for the prosperity of the population of Boura. The prayer was led by Imam Sadou Ou©draogo, who, in his sermon, implored divine grace for the return of peace to the country and for the protection of the faithful during their family travels. "I ask everyone to be united around the values ??of our faith," declared the preacher. He also urged young people to remain committed to the values ??of Islam, before offering prayers of support for the President of Burkina Faso, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, the government, as well as the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP).

Echoing this sentiment, Sheikh El Hadj Boukar© Nabaloum invoked divine blessings for the protection and serenity of Burkina Faso, while also providing spiritual advice to the faithful to guide their daily lives.

Local authorities also expressed their solidarity with the Muslim community. Present at the celebration, Ms. Jos©phine Zogdia/Zopoula, President of the General Affairs Committee of the Special Delegation of the Boura municipality, conveyed a message of support and encouragement from the President of the Special Delegation, Judith Diasso/Kanyala. She implored "Allah's mercy for mutual understanding" and the safety of all the inhabitants of the Boura municipality.

This large prayer concluded with the sacrifice of the imam's sheep, allowing each member of the faithful to sacrifice their own with their families, where the festivities continued in a spirit of brotherhood and sharing.
