Tenkodogo: Subscribers of the Cooperative Society with Board of Directors of the Agency for the Promotion of The special delegation of the municipality of Ziniar© held an accountability day dedicated to the review of its management for the year 2025. The event took place in the town hall under the chairmanship of the high commissioner of the province of Oubritenga, Sadou Guigma.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Tingani Florent Dabon©, stated that the exercise aims to strengthen trust between the municipal authorities and the citizens. He emphasized that when citizens are informed about the usage of financial resources, they become more motivated and involved in managing local affairs.
The ceremony witnessed significant participation from local actors, including Village Development Councils (VDCs), associations, community leaders, decentralized technical services of the State, and other vital forces of the municipality. This participation reflects the interest of the people in municipal management.
The report presented covered various aspects such as the functioning of the special delegation, budget execution, achievements, difficulties encountered, and future prospects. It was deemed satisfactory overall.
In terms of budget, the municipality of Ziniar© mobilized nearly 1.95 billion FCFA, achieving a collection rate exceeding 100% of projections. Own-source revenue, initially estimated at 440 million FCFA, reached 552 million FCFA, surpassing the set targets.
Regarding achievements, approximately 160 million FCFA has been invested in the education sector, while 100 million FCFA has been allocated to other priority sectors of community development.
Abdoulaye Ou©draogo, chairman of the board of directors of SPONG, praised the initiative, stating that it contributes to empowering the population and fostering a better understanding of how the local community functions. He noted it as a sign of commitment and motivation for the people and an opportunity to better understand municipal management.
High Commissioner Sadou Guigma, who presided over the ceremony, congratulated the municipal officials on the results achieved. He urged them to continue being a model of local governance as the regional capital.
Looking ahead, the municipality plans to build health infrastructure, including a Health and Social Promotion Centre (CSPS) in sector 5, and install 200 new streetlights to extend public lighting, in addition to the 259 streetlights already installed.
