Tenkodogo: Subscribers of the Cooperative Society with Board of Directors of the Agency for the Promotion of The High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Ou©draogo, has called upon all actors within the province to actively participate in reforestation and environmental protection efforts. This call to action was made on Tuesday in Kongoussi during the monthly rotating flag-raising ceremony held at the Provincial Directorate of Water and Forests of Bam.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the High Commissioner emphasized that June marks the beginning of the winter season, which is an opportune time for activities aimed at restoring vegetation cover and preserving natural resources. Ou©draogo urged technical services, local authorities, civil society organizations, partners, and the public to engage in tree planting and maintenance campaigns. He highlighted the necessity for coordinated and sustainable efforts from citizens to tackle the issues of deforestation, desertification, and climate change.

The High Commissioner also acknowledged the contributions of the Bam Provincial Directorate of Water and Forests in safeguarding forest and wildlife heritage and combating resource degradation. In light of the ongoing agricultural campaign, he motivated producers to strive towards achieving the government’s production targets, wishing them favorable rainfall.

He further encouraged the population to exhibit civic responsibility, solidarity, and engagement to aid in the sustainable development of the province.

The provincial director of Water and Forests of Bam, Commander Mahamadou Zoungrana, expressed his gratification for hosting the ceremony, stating that the presence of administrative authorities and participants signified unity among the provincial administration’s departments. He remarked that the event’s strong turnout demonstrated a sense of cohesion and fraternity.
