Rassam: Naaba Lolga II has officially moved into the Rassam palace after a week-long traditional stay with his “guardian.” This move marks the beginning of his reign as he assumes his full powers as the King of Yatenga, observed AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Naaba Lolga II, who also serves as the Minister of Youth in charge of customary matters for the King of Yatenga, made his first public appearance on Saturday morning. The ceremony, held at 10 am, was steeped in tradition as he made his way to the palace.
A large and jubilant crowd accompanied Naaba Lolga II to the palace, celebrating with the rhythm of drums and homage songs performed by the traditional troupe of Jeremie de Teonsgo. During the procession, he waved his cane to the crowd, which had gathered in significant numbers to support him.
The day of Naaba Lolga II’s integration into the Rassam palace is marked by popular celebrations. It symbolizes the beginning of his reign, during which he aims to blend modernity with tradition.
