Passor©: The province of Passor©, with the support of the provincial directorate of water and forests, successfully planted 800 seedlings in Tangin on Saturday, June 20, 2026. This initiative was part of the 8th edition of the National Tree Day (JNA), celebrated under the theme: ‘My concession, my tree’.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the tree-planting ceremony was held at the medicinal plant grove in Tangin, situated five kilometers from Yako. The event was presided over by Sadou Ou©draogo, the Secretary General of the province (SGP) of Passor©, who was representing the High Commissioner of the province.
A total of 800 plants were planted at the site of the provincial grove of Tanguin, contributing to the national efforts aimed at restoring vegetation cover. The operation was officially launched by the secretary general, alongside members of the constituted bodies and numerous citizens who participated in the event.
The SGP praised the strong mobilization of participants and emphasized the significance of the initiative known as “The patriotic hour to re-green Faso,” which seeks to enhance the country’s environmental resilience. Mr. Ou©draogo urged every citizen to uphold this commitment by planting and nurturing at least one tree in their concession, service, or any other suitable space.
This action highlights the determination of stakeholders in the province to contribute to environmental protection and combat desertification.
