Governor Visits Norbert Zongo University Construction Sites to Assess Project Progress

Koudougou: The Governor of the Nando region, Adama Jean Yves B©r©, recently visited the construction sites of Norbert Zongo University (UNZ) in Koudougou. The visit was part of the ongoing efforts to assess the projects initiated under the Presidential Initiative for Quality Education (IPEQ).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the inspection focused on two significant projects: a 1,000-seat amphitheater and a three-story teaching block. These projects, which commenced on February 5, 2026, are intended to enhance the university's capacity to accommodate its growing student population. The construction is scheduled for completion within a contractual period of nine months.

During the visit, Governor B©r© was joined by the High Commissioner of Boulkiemd©, Salimata Ouedraogo/Sanou, the President of the special delegation of Koudougou, Am©d©e Par©, and the University President, Pr Windkouni Haoua Eug©nie Maiga. The Governor had the opportunity to observe the progress and engage with the construction company on-site.

Governor B©r© expressed general satisfaction with the progress but urged the contractors to maintain or expedite their work pace to ensure timely completion. He emphasized the importance of adhering to quality standards throughout the construction process.

He also called upon the university community to participate in continuous citizen oversight, ensuring compliance and the long-term sustainability of these educational infrastructures.
