Seeds and Agricultural Equipment Boost for Ouargaye’s Agricultural Volunteers

Sissili: Seeds and agricultural equipment handed over to agricultural VDPs to strengthen production The President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Ouargaye Mahamadou Soulama proceeded, on Thursday, June 26, 2026, to receive and then officially hand over seeds and agricultural equipment to the agricultural Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) of the commune, within the framework of the Presidential Initiative.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, provided by the National Bureau for Major Projects, consists of 150 kilograms of maize, 120 kilograms of cowpeas, an electric sprayer, a manual sprayer, a seed drill, and two tarpaulins. It aims to strengthen the agricultural production capacities of the Village Development Projects (VDPs) during the 2026 agricultural season.

The handover ceremony took place in the presence of the head of the departmental agricultural service, Balebyan Roger Yougbar©, as well as the beneficiaries.

On this occasion, the President of the Special Delegation commended this initiative by the National Office for Major Projects, describing it as significant support for the development of local agricultural production. He urged the beneficiaries to use the equipment and seeds provided to them responsibly.

The PDS also expressed its confidence in the agricultural VDPs, stressing that the training they received should enable them to effectively conduct agricultural campaign activities and achieve better yields.

Through this allocation, the authorities intend to contribute to the improvement of agricultural production while supporting the involvement of VDP in development actions at the municipal level.
