Sissili: Residents of the Soudougui commune have been mobilized for three days to rehabilitate the main road into the commune and several roads in the town center, which have been damaged by rain. Through this community initiative, they aim to improve access to the town and facilitate the movement of people and goods.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the operation was led by the Village Development Councils (CVD) with the support of the President of the Special Delegation (PDS), Nebgniga Ou©draogo. It brought together young people, women, and elderly people from different villages in the commune, showcasing a strong sense of solidarity.
On the ground, young residents extracted stones from the surrounding hills using pickaxes. These materials were transported by tricycles and dumped on the most deteriorated sections of the road, where other participants worked to fill the potholes caused by heavy rains.
The representative of the Village Development Committees (CVDs) in the commune, Arzouma P©d©hombga, praised the strong community participation. He highlighted that this initiative reflects the social cohesion that prevails in Soudougui and encouraged residents to maintain this spirit of unity to collectively address local development challenges.
The head of the Special Delegation, Nebgniga Ou©draogo, congratulated the participants for their commitment and reiterated that community infrastructure is everyone's responsibility. He emphasized that collective will makes it possible to overcome difficulties.
This initiative illustrates the commitment of the people of Soudougui to contribute, through concrete actions, to the improvement of their living environment.
