Ouagadougou: The Sien Public Primary School in Nayala Province held a school excellence day on Saturday to reward top students and recognize the commitment of those involved in education. The ceremony brought together administrative, educational, and traditional authorities, as well as the villagers.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on this day of excellence, the five best students from each class, a total of 32 students including 14 girls and 18 boys, received school kits. The school's director, Elysee Go, expressed his delight at the school's performance. He indicated that all 29 candidates who sat the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam in 2026 passed, representing a 100% success rate for the second year in a row.

He congratulated the teachers, students, parents, and school partners for their contribution to these results, while inviting everyone to continue their efforts to maintain this dynamic of excellence. The head of the Toma Basic Education District (CEB), Bruno Ky, praised the work done by the educational team and encouraged the community to keep all school-age children in school.

The Provincial Director of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education in Nayala, Thomas Garane, also congratulated the school and the people of Sien for their commitment to education. He stressed that the school's performance is the result of collective work involving teachers, students, parents, and partners.

The Secretary General of Nayala Province, Adama Diallo, representing the High Commissioner, expressed his gratitude to all education stakeholders for the results achieved despite the challenging circumstances. He encouraged students to persevere and partners to continue supporting schools.
