Captain Ibrahim Traor© Reassures Sahel States Confederation’s Intentions

Dano: At the raising of the national colors this Monday, July 6, the prefect, president of the special municipal delegation (PDS) of Dano, Denis Zanr© delivered the message of Captain Ibrahim Traor© on the occasion of the second anniversary of the confederation of Sahel States in front of a remarkable mobilization of the constituted bodies. The current president of the Confederation of Sahel States, Captain Ibrahim Traor©, addressed the people of the three member countries on the occasion of the confederation's second anniversary.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the monthly ceremony of raising the national colors, the prefect, president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Dano, Denis Zanr© representing the high commissioner, delivered the message of the Head of State to the constituted bodies of the province of Ioba. From the genesis of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) to the creation of the Confederation of Sahel States on July 6, 2024, Captain Ibrahim Traor© recalled the visions and objectives of this Sahelian organization.

In his message, Captain Traor© emphasized, "The confederation is not directed against any people, any nation, or any organization. It constitutes a sovereign choice freely assumed by three independent states determined to fight terrorism, preserve the integrity of their territories and fully recover their independence to build a more just and more united world."

Captain Ibrahim Traor© reiterated that the confederation's objectives revolve around three pillars: defense and security, diplomacy, and development, stating, "A confederation desired, supported, and defended by our people. A confederation built for the people." He highlighted the tangible results achieved two years after the confederation's inception.

The President of Burkina Faso remarked, "The second anniversary of our Confederation is not an end point. It marks the continuation of a new stage undertaken with hope and optimism." The PDS expressed gratitude to the members of the constituted bodies for their constant mobilization, demonstrating their strong sense of patriotism. Special thanks were extended to the provincial director of water and forestry for Ioba and his staff for organizing the flag-raising ceremony.
