Cultural Entrepreneurs in Bobo-Dioulasso Trained in Digital Tools and AI

Bobo-dioulasso: The regional director of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism of Guiriko, Boukary Malgoubri, inaugurated a training session focused on digital tools and artificial intelligence for cultural entrepreneurs in Bobo-Dioulasso this Wednesday morning.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this training is organized in anticipation of the Creative Industries Promotion Days (JPIC) scheduled for the end of the month. The initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of cultural actors, enabling them to grasp sector developments and maintain competitiveness in the evolving cultural landscape both nationally and internationally.

Yaya Soura, Director of Arts and Cultural Industries at the Directorate General of Culture and Arts, highlighted that this initiative continues the capacity-building activities initiated since last March. The training for cultural entrepreneurs has been available since 2013, with this session marking the 10th edition, particularly focusing on artificial intelligence's application to creative industries to aid cultural stakeholders in adapting to the digital revolution.

A total of 45 young project leaders, chosen based on their entrepreneurial initiatives, will undergo three days of training in Bobo-Dioulasso. Similar training sessions will follow in Koudougou and Tenkodogo. The modules include marketing and digital management, simplified accounting, and the application of generative artificial intelligence in artistic and cultural creation and production.

Yaya Soura stated that the objective is to provide participants with tools to enhance the management, production, and marketing of their cultural works and services. The skills acquired during these sessions will be showcased at the 10th edition of the JPIC, planned for July 24 and 25, 2026, at the National Museum in Ouagadougou.
