Mouhoun Clergy Donates 500,000 FCFA for Cement Purchase to Support Development Initiative

Ouagadougou: The clergy of the Diocese of Dedougou has donated 500,000 FCFA to the Faso Mªbo Agency for the purchase of cement, supporting development actions within the initiative. This gesture was made during the priestly ordinations in Dedougou, with Father Ernest Ouedraogo handing over the check to Boureima Ouedraogo, the Secretary General of Mouhoun province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation represents the commitment of the clergy, alongside other components of the nation, to support the country's development efforts. Father Stanislas Balo, the spokesperson for the delegation and parish priest of the Dedougou cathedral parish, emphasized the clergy's desire to contribute to the building of the city, alongside the lay faithful. He described the donation as an act of patriotism and highlighted the ongoing dynamic within the Catholic Church of Dedougou.

Father Balo also noted the prior mobilization of resources by the lay faithful, including a gala dinner and local collections by several parishes for the benefit of Faso Mªbo. Boureima Ouedraogo, representing the High Commissioner of Mouhoun, praised the Catholic Church's consistent commitment to national development efforts and expressed gratitude for the priests' contribution as a symbol of patriotism.

The provincial secretary general also commended Father Alfred Wilfried D. Ki, director of Catholic education, for the performance of Catholic institutions in the 2026 school examinations. Through their donation, the priests of the Benkadi priestly fraternity aim to show solidarity with the Faso Mªbo initiative and encourage other groups in the province to continue supporting national construction efforts.
