Ouagadougou: The Ambassadors of Good Deeds association organized the second edition of its "Youth in Action" day yesterday, Sunday, under the theme: "The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), an example for youth." This activity aims to promote the values of peace, responsibility, respect, leadership, and citizenship among young people.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the association Les Ambassadrices du Bienfait led the event, with its president Fazatou Dao emphasizing the importance of young Muslims being comfortable in their religious practice. Addressing the audience in Ouagadougou, Dao highlighted the theme, "The Prophet Muhammad, an example for youth," as a guide for instilling values such as peace and responsibility among the participants.
The event attracted around 600 young attendees from various regions and neighboring countries, aiming to deepen their understanding of Islamic teachings. Activities included teachings, panel discussions, and Quranic readings, providing a comprehensive spiritual experience for the young participants.
Panelist Khalil Fofana provided insights into the historical context of Islam, discussing the circumstances surrounding its inception 14 centuries ago. Fofana stressed the importance of understanding this history to appreciate the religion's roots and teachings.
Another significant panel, led by Adama Kindo, explored the theme: "Social networks, a blessing or a trap?" Kindo highlighted the need for Muslims to approach social media with caution, ensuring that any shared information about Islam is authentic and contributes positively to the religion's image.
In addition to spiritual enlightenment, the "Youth in Action" event also encouraged youth entrepreneurship. Exhibition booths were set up to present opportunities, fostering a spirit of innovation and enterprise among attendees.
The "Ambassadors of Charity" association, comprising around fifty members, is dedicated to promoting Islamic values and engaging in charitable activities to support the community.
