Ouagadougou: An association donates over 1.5 million CFA francs worth of food to the FDS and VDP. The Association of Daughters and Sons for the Well-being of the Bam Province (AFFBBP) handed over, on Thursday in Kongoussi, a large quantity of food and jerrycans for the benefit of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) engaged in securing the province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the donation, valued at over 1.5 million CFA francs, consists of 120 25kg bags of rice, 40 five-liter jerrycans of oil, and 60 empty five-liter jerrycans for transporting water. It was received by the High Commissioner of Bam Province, Karim Oudraogo.

The president of the AFFBBP, Sayouba Sawadogo, stated that this gesture reflects the association's willingness to respond to the authorities' call for the reconquest of the national territory. Sawadogo emphasized the importance of not remaining on the sidelines of this struggle, acknowledging the continuous efforts of the FDS and the VDP in securing the region. He credited the support of nationals living in Ouagadougou and elsewhere for the mobilization of this donation as a show of solidarity.

After receiving the donation, High Commissioner Karim Oudraogo expressed appreciation for the solidarity, which he believes strengthens the morale of the fighters engaged in the field. He highlighted that such gestures are proof of the people's commitment to stand by the Defense and Security Forces and the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, asserting that unity and solidarity are key to reconquering the territory and achieving lasting peace.

Oudraogo also called upon all the sons and daughters of the province to maintain their support for the fighting forces to consolidate security gains and promote the normal resumption of economic activities. Following the ceremony, the High Commissioner promptly handed over the donation to a delegation from the 16th Rapid Intervention Battalion (BIR 16), who expressed their gratitude and assured that the supplies would be utilized effectively.

This is not the first instance of support from the AFFBBP, as the same association provided food and equipment to the Bam fighting forces last year, reinforcing their commitment to aiding local security efforts.
