Ouagadougou: The Minister of Security, Divisional Police Commissioner Mahamadou Sana, called on Sunday in Ouargaye for the fighting forces and the vital forces of the Koulplogo province to maintain their mobilization and commitment in the fight against terrorism and the defense of the national territory. The meeting took place at the Ouargaye town hall, with provincial authorities, combat forces, and civil society representatives in attendance.According to Burkina Information Agency, the President of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the Ouargaye municipality, Mahamadou Soulama, welcomed the Minister of Security and the government delegation, commending them for their presence and the initiative of this meeting with key stakeholders in the Koulplogo region. Soulama also acknowledged the efforts of the fighting forces engaged in operations, which have contributed to the gradual restoration of peace in Ouargaye and other communes in the province.Minister Sana was accompanied by the Chief of Staff of the Natio nal Gendarmerie, Colonel Issa Yaguibou, along with various heads of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) of Nakamb. The delegation engaged in discussions with the fighting forces and civil society of the province to assess the security situation and to strengthen collective mobilization around national defense.In his address, Minister Mahamadou Sana praised the resilience of the Koulplogo population amidst security challenges. He emphasized that the defense and security of the national territory are a collective responsibility and concern for every citizen. The minister lauded the efforts of the FDS and the Volunteers for the Defence of the Homeland (VDP), urging them to remain committed and determined in their mission.Commissioner Mahamadou Sana also addressed the threat of terrorism, cautioning those who, under the guise of business, supply terrorist groups with essential items like fuel, motorcycles, or food. He highlighted instances where terrorists, during incursions, seized food, especially tô, fro m certain concessions, indicating the dire conditions of these groups.Minister Sana reported on the progress made in resettling the population, noting that, thanks to efforts by the President of Faso and the Government, some communes and villages have been resettled, while others are in the process. The delegation visited the gendarmerie detachment and the royal court of Ouargaye, where the representative of His Majesty Naaba Sanem Dima expressed gratitude for the ongoing efforts in reclaiming national territory.During interactions with community leaders, Minister Sana addressed questions about security concerns and the well-being of the population, providing responses before continuing his tour. In his meetings, he urged traditional and religious authorities to continue praying for peace in Koulplogo and Burkina Faso.
