Scouting: Camp Ninkr© 2026 Opens in Koudougou Under the Banner of Unity and Peace

Ouagadougou: The Nando region is hosting the second edition of Camp Ninkr© from July 21 to 28, 2026, an initiative of the Burkina Faso Scouts Association. Held under the theme “United in diversity, scouts committed to lasting peace”, this regional meeting aims to strengthen the values of peace, fraternity, patriotism, and civic engagement among young scouts.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the official opening ceremony was held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at the Popular Theatre of Koudougou, in the presence of administrative authorities, leaders of the scout movement, senior scouts, and several guests. Representing the Governor of the Nando region, the technical advisor in charge of cultural and tourism matters, Comrade Augustin Ouedraogo, welcomed the choice of the region to host this second edition of Camp Ninkr©. He emphasized that scouting is a school of life that helps shape responsible and engaged citizens.

Comrade Ouedraogo encouraged participants to make the most of the lessons, panels, and experience-sharing sessions planned during the camp. He expressed hope that upon their return, participants might become agents of peace, solidarity, and patriotism, dedicated to the development of Burkina Faso. He also congratulated the organizing committee on this initiative and called upon all those of goodwill to support the scouting movement in its educational mission.

The Regional Commissioner of the Nando Scouts, Chief Windlasida Mathurin Bouda, indicated that this edition brings together approximately 250 participants from the different provinces of the region, with the presence of representatives from other regions of Burkina Faso. According to him, Camp Ninkr© pursues a dual objective: to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between scouts, despite the diversity of cultures, languages, and religions, and to offer a framework for sharing knowledge and strengthening the capacities of young people.

The program includes panels, a popular cross-country race followed by an aerobics session, conferences, and several technical training sessions covering topics such as artificial intelligence, k´k´ donda soap making, wall decoration, and other practical activities designed to promote the empowerment of participants. The Regional Commissioner urged the campers to put their newly acquired knowledge into practice so that they could become agents of peace, social cohesion, and development within their families and communities. He also called on parents to support youth movements, considering them an essential complement to family and school education.

For his part, the sponsor, the senior scout leader of the Nando region, Comrade Emmanuel Kabor©, praised the organizers’ efforts and encouraged the young people to join the scouting movement. He maintained that the values of discipline, rigor, solidarity, and service instilled by scouting are major assets in family, professional, and social life.

Scheduled to run until July 28, Camp Ninkr© 2026 aims to contribute to training a responsible youth, united in its diversity and resolutely committed to the consolidation of lasting peace in Burkina Faso.
