Ouagadougou: Residents demolish dangerous mounds to reduce accidents on the RN15. The people of Boulsa, mobilized by the special municipal delegation, carried out community service work (TIG) consisting of demolishing the numerous abandoned mounds of earth on the section linking the High Court (TGI) to the former Medical Center with surgical unit (CMA), in order to reduce traffic accidents, which are often fatal.

According to Burkina Information Agency, at the call of the president of the special delegation (PDS) of the commune of Boulsa, Issaka Sangla, the different socio-professional groups mobilized strongly, equipped with shovels, picks, and other equipment, to level the mounds erected on the road. The mounds, more than one meter high and without any signage, are identified as the main cause of the accidents recorded on this section of road, both day and night.

"It is in view of the inconveniences observed and the loss of human lives that we initiated this activity in order to minimize the risks of accidents on this road," explained Mr. Sangla. He highlighted that the project to construct and pave the Kalwartenga-Boulsa section of National Route No. 15 (RN15) remained unfinished due to the failure of the company in charge, leaving several unmarked mounds of earth on the road.

The works have made it possible to demolish these obstacles, thus improving traffic conditions and user safety. During the operation, the High Commissioner of Namentenga Province, Adama Conseiga, went to encourage the volunteers. He praised their civic engagement and patriotic spirit, while urging them to continue their work in compliance with safety guidelines.
