Abuja: The Regional Directorate of Preschool, Primary and Non-Formal Education (DREPPNF) of Yaadga hosted a regional day of academic excellence, marking a significant achievement with a 96.67% pass rate in the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) examinations, as observed on site by AIB.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this 2026 edition of the academic excellence day, themed "Academic excellence and strengthening resilience in the Yaadga region: an integrated approach for consolidating the gains of educational reforms for quality education," showcased the region's extraordinary success. Regional Director Pascal Waongo highlighted the impressive results, including a 93.30% pass rate on the certification assessment and the implementation of educational reforms, with the highest regional average recorded at 19.86 out of 20.
The event celebrated the achievements of Fazatou Savadogo, a visually impaired student from Saint Marius B Primary School, who excelled with an average score of 19.25 out of 20. Regional Director Waongo urged the educational community to maintain their commitment to continuous improvement.
Faouziatou Sawadogo, representing the laureates, expressed pride and gratitude, stating, "Personally, I cannot see you with my eyes, but I see you with my heart. We ask for your support until we reach secondary school."
To encourage academic excellence, several prizes were awarded. Guiro Harouna from Gourga A School and Bel©m/Ou©draogo Mari©tou from WendpouirB School, both achieving a 100% success rate with their candidates, were honored with motorcycles, financial rewards, certificates, and other gifts. Bicycles, school kits, certificates of recognition, and financial envelopes were also distributed to outstanding students and educators.
Albert Kuilga Zongo, Secretary General of the region, delivered a message on behalf of the Governor of Yaadga, praising the historic pass rate and reiterating the region's commitment to providing quality education.
The ceremony, attended by prominent figures such as Naaba Bouli of L¨ba and Dr. Herman Yacouba Nacambo, Director General of the CNSS, was a gathering of administrative, traditional, religious, military, and educational representatives, celebrating the region's academic achievements.
