Ouagadougou: The educational community of the village of Bascorma, in the commune of Tougo in the province of Zondoma, celebrated the merit of the actors on Sunday, July 26, 2026, during a ceremony of excellence organized in the courtyard of the Bascorma ''A'' school.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony was held under the blessing of His Majesty Naaba Piiga, chief of Bascorma, and brought together school directors, teachers, parents, students, and former teachers who had served in the village. The event recognized the top five students in each class from the three schools, who received school supply kits. Additionally, the seven top-performing students who passed the Primary School Leaving Certificate (CEP) exam in 2026 were each awarded a new bicycle. Teachers of the final year classes (CM2) were also acknowledged with letters of commendation for their contributions to the students' achievements.
Tidiani Sodre, representing the three school principals, presented a positive academic report. He stated that all students in the intermediate grades were promoted to the next grade, and the CEP exam achieved a 100% pass rate for all three schools, which had a total of 63 candidates. 'These results are the fruit of the efforts of all education stakeholders. We invite the entire community to continue its support in order to maintain these performances in the years to come,' said Comrade Sodre.
His Majesty Naaba Piiga remarked that the distinctions reflect the sacrifices made by the teachers and the community's commitment to education. "The teachers do remarkable work with our children and are always available to parents. I urge every son and daughter of Bascorma to continue supporting them and to organize themselves so that they have the best conditions to fulfill their mission," he stated.
Through this initiative, the educational community of Bascorma aims to promote healthy competition among students, encourage teachers, and strengthen parental involvement in academic success to preserve the excellent results achieved by the village's schools.
