Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Koosin Province, Noufo Dembel©, presided over a flag-raising ceremony at the provincial Treasury, marking an important event for civil society and community leaders on Tuesday, August 4, 2026. During the ceremony, Dembel© introduced Adama Dao as the "Ambassador of Peace" and coordinator of the province's citizen watchdog associations.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the event gathered leading figures of Koosin province at the Treasury to participate in the national colors' raising. To express their patriotism, attendees sang the national anthem, "Ditany¨." The chief treasurer, Brahima Sigriyouma, outlined the Treasury's responsibilities and its role in implementing public policies, expressing gratitude to provincial authorities for selecting his department for this significant event.

Noufo Dembel© praised the civil society forces' presence and highlighted the role of Adama Dao, who dedicated his award to the resilient people of Koosin. The Patriotic Movement for the Culture of Peace and Love of the Fatherland (MPAP) presented the award to Dao as part of an initiative recognizing those dedicated to peace and social cohesion.

The winners' dedication is evaluated by a jury of high-ranking figures, and Dembel© commended the coordination of citizen watchdog associations for their support of government initiatives. The award given to Dao also honors all member associations.

The award included five liters of soybean oil, two packs of sorghum chocolate "Forty Pops," and two sets of t-shirts and shorts. Additionally, the commune of Doumbala contributed by donating sugar, Citec soap, "Fassi" powdered soap, and Lipton tea valued at 90,000 CFA francs, as part of their support for those engaged in patriotic immersion activities.

The High Commissioner encouraged others to follow Doumbala's example to offer comfort and support to those involved in patriotic endeavors.
