Gourma: The High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, presided over the traditional monthly flag-raising ceremony this Thursday, August 6, 2026, at the Fada N'Gourma prison. He congratulated the constituted bodies for their patriotism and urged them to be more attentive to the needs of the people.

According to Burkina Information Agency, on the sidelines of the raising of the national colors held at the Fada N'Gourma Detention and Correction Center, the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, Silas Nacanabo, warmly praised all the constituted bodies for their civic commitment and patriotic spirit.

Mr. Nacanabo expressed his satisfaction with the remarkable performance recorded by the province in terms of environmental preservation. Indeed, the Gourma province distinguished itself particularly during the 2026 edition of the "patriotic hour to re-green Faso" by ranking second at the national level.

To this end, the province has managed to plant 704,104 plants, coming very close to the overall objectives, while the total forecast for all three regions (Goulmou, Sirba and Tapoa) was 800,000 plants for this 2026 edition.

The province's top official urged public officials to scrupulously keep in mind their fundamental role as "servants of the people." Silas Nacanabo stressed the absolute necessity for state agents to continually listen to citizens.

'Not everyone understands how the administration works. It is up to public officials to listen to the public, to advise them and to explain how the administration works in order to guide them effectively,' he insisted, and stressed that this educational approach is essential for work to take place in peace, joy and mutual respect.

The High Commissioner concluded his speech by inviting all public service workers and constituted bodies to maintain this momentum and to continue to serve the people with dedication, professionalism and enthusiasm.
