Ouagadougou: The Tougo territorial gendarmerie brigade received on Friday a computer kit consisting of a desktop computer, a printer, and a sum of 50,000 CFA francs offered by El hadj LassanSawadogo, a son of the locality. The handover ceremony took place at the Tougo town hall, under the chairmanship of the President of the special delegation (PDS) of the municipality, Boureima Souley, surrounded by members of the local citizen watch.

According to Burkina Information Agency, before the handover of the donation, valued at an estimated 550,000 FCFA, the PDS of Tougo praised the donor's gesture, which he presented as an act of patriotism and civic engagement. "The challenges are enormous, and no one else can solve them better than the commitment of the sons and daughters of the commune," he declared. He encouraged others to follow the example of donor El Hadj LassanSawadogo.

For the brigade commander, SimandRamd, who received the donation, this support will bolster the gendarmerie's daily operations. He indicated that the computer equipment will facilitate the tasks of the agents, while the fuel allowance will contribute to their travel in the course of their duties.

For his part, Comrade Sawadogo downplayed the significance of his gesture. "This donation is not an extraordinary act. The gendarmerie works to protect everyone. It is the duty of every citizen to support it according to their means," he stated. The donor also congratulated the gendarmes for their daily work in protecting people and their property.

As a reminder, the Tougo territorial gendarmerie brigade was installed on June 16th to replace the national police.
