Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, Moctar Ilboudo, officially opened the 13th edition of the Kourittenga Union for Peace and Development Cup (COUPDK) tournament on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Kourita High School grounds in Koupla. Organized by the Association for Peace and Development of Kourittenga (APDK), the tournament features 24 teams competing for the trophy.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the Union Cup for Peace and Development of Kourittenga (COUPDK) lived up to its promise with two matches played at the Kourita High School grounds in Koupla.
The opening matches of this competition involved the KRAS Sport team, which prevailed over the Fondation FC team by 4 goals to 1. The second match was played between FC Sambr, which emerged victorious by 1 goal to 0 against the FC Kut-kand team.
The organizing committee, in order to achieve the objectives of this tournament, initiated by the Association for Peace and Development of Kourittenga (APDK), urged the teams participating in this competition to strictly respect the rules.
For the president of the Association for Peace and Development of Kourittenga (APDK) and promoter of the tournament, Fran§ois Xavier Nikiema, this tournament aims to strengthen social cohesion and living together for peace.
He asked the participating teams to always give meaning to the key phrase of this 13th edition, which is "Fair Play".
