Ouagadougou: A Burkinabe delegation composed of journalists, communicators, and heads of public and private media, led by the Minister of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism, Comrade Pingdwend Gilbert OUEDRAOGO, is participating in the 7th Forum on China-Africa Media Cooperation, which commenced on Thursday, August 20, 2026, in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the forum, held under the theme “Sharing new development opportunities, creating a new audiovisual future,” gathers representatives from approximately thirty African countries. It is part of the broader framework of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation. The event serves as a platform to evaluate the results of cooperation in radio, television, and audiovisual media and to explore prospects for enhancing this collaboration.

During the forum, the Minister of Communication will engage in a one-on-one meeting with Chinese partners, conduct visits to media outlets and companies, and meet with his counterparts from the African continent. He is also scheduled to deliver a speech on “Content innovation in the service of bringing Chinese and African people closer together.”

Established in 2012, the China-Africa Media Forum is held biennially and is co-organized by the National Radio and Television Administration of China, the Beijing Municipal Government, and the African Union of Broadcasting.
