Ouagadougou: AS Dafra wins the 8th edition of the Children's Well-being Tournament on Sunday, August 23, 2026, in Bobo-Dioulasso, defeating SAM Academy of Lafiabougou 2-0 in the final, after two 30-minute halves of play.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the competition was held under the theme "Promoting Peace and Development through Children's Sports Education" and united 24 U15 teams from Bobo-Dioulasso. AS Dafra, sporting yellow jerseys, clinched their third consecutive title with a decisive 2-0 victory over SAM Academy.

The triumphant team was awarded a trophy, a set of jerseys, balls, gold medals, and a cash prize, while the runners-up, SAM Academy, received jerseys, balls, silver medals, and a cash prize. Salamata Compaor/Sinar, the president of the special delegation for the 6th arrondissement of Bobo-Dioulasso, commended the tournament's longevity and success, emphasizing the effort required to maintain an event for eight years. She expressed admiration for the final's quality, asserting that both teams deserved their places.

Compaor/Sinar also pledged continued support for initiatives that provide productive activities for youth, highlighting the role of such events in nurturing Burkinabe football talent. Dominique Kouda, the tournament's promoter, reiterated the event's goal to offer children a constructive holiday activity, reducing exposure to societal issues and showcasing young talent.

Kouda expressed satisfaction with the tournament's quality and fair play, urging teams to maintain dedication and seriousness, as these qualities are rewarding.
