Ouagadougou: The special municipal delegation of Zorgho has authorized the construction of a hotel infrastructure named "Yamba Hotel," during its first extraordinary session of 2026, held on Thursday, August 20, at the Zorgho town hall.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, convened by Valentin Badolo, president of the special delegation (PDS), focused on the examination and adoption of a resolution authorizing the hotel infrastructure's construction in the municipality. Kabor Lamine, the developer behind the "Yamba Hotel" project, presented the plan to the delegates. The hotel will span 3.75 hectares in the Siny district, sector 3 of Zorgho.
The hotel complex will feature 48 rooms, approximately ten traditional African huts, two conference rooms each with a capacity of about 80 seats, a restaurant, and two swimming pools. The project's investment totals 479 million FCFA over five years, with a partial opening anticipated in the third year. The developer plans an annual investment of 100 million FCFA for the first four years, followed by 79 million FCFA in the fifth year.
The project is projected to generate over one hundred direct and indirect jobs, employing around 90 individuals across various trades to operate the infrastructure. After discussing the project, the special delegation adopted the resolution for its implementation by acclamation.
Additionally, the delegation examined and adopted a resolution authorizing professional entrance examinations to the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM) for the 2026 session, offering 100 training scholarships to local authorities through the National Agency for Support to the Development of Local Authorities (ADCT). Another resolution authorized an agreement with ADCT regarding the scholarship program. The delegation also resolved to set the monthly operating rent for the Zorgho Community Hostel at 600,000 FCFA.
At the session's conclusion, PDS Valentin Badolo expressed gratitude to the members of the special delegation, as well as the technical services and partners, for their contributions to the discussions. He appreciated their participation and the insights provided for making decisions beneficial for the municipality's functioning.
