Ouagadougou: Tourism stakeholders from the Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa regions inaugurated the office of the Eastern Regional Federation of Tourism Stakeholders (FRAT) in Fada N’Gourma. The ceremony was presided over by the High Commissioner of the Gourma Province, Silas Nacanabo, representing the Governor of the Goulmou Region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this new umbrella organization unites all professionals and stakeholders in the tourism sector from the Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa regions. It aims to provide a unified framework for exchange and consultation to promote the Eastern destination and support the recovery of the sector.

Following the consultation process, Mathieu Ouoba was appointed as president of the executive board of this regional organization. Ouoba stated that the mission must be fulfilled collaboratively with all stakeholders to achieve the set objectives. He expressed the ambition for the regions of Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa to become a source of pride.

Kadr Sawadogo, the Director of Tourism Industry Development, welcomed the creation of this organization, noting that it was made possible with the technical support of the regional directorate in charge of tourism. Camarade Sawadogo explained that the regional federation provides a platform for tourism stakeholders to express themselves and contribute to national tourism administration actions.

The president of FRAT-Est emphasized the importance of regrouping to address the challenges faced by the sector. The organization has three main missions: ensuring the overall representation of stakeholders, collaborating with the public administration in tourism governance, and strengthening cohesion among stakeholders in the Goulmou, Sirba, and Tapoa regions.

Silas Nacanabo, the High Commissioner of the Gourma province, praised the initiative taken by professionals in the sector and encouraged them to make this structure a key lever for developing the tourism potential of the Eastern region.
