Burkina faso: A group of teachers visited the Thomas Sankara Memorial on Saturday as part of a tour to discover historical and cultural sites. This visit aims to help them better understand the history of the Revolution, the life of Captain Thomas Sankara, and his actions in support of Burkina Faso's development.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the president of the teachers' collective, Fatimata Lankoand©, expressed that the group aims to immerse themselves in the history of the Revolution and draw inspiration from the revolutionary acts of Captain Thomas Sankara. The tour, organized in partnership with Faso Tourisme, is part of a broader effort to restore the image of teachers by enhancing their understanding of national heritage.

Fatimata Lankoand© highlighted that this outing allows teachers to utilize the school holidays for research and discovery of Burkinabe heritage, thus strengthening their ability to transmit national history to students. The collective emphasizes deepening their knowledge to enhance their teaching practices.

The group, comprising preschool, primary, secondary, and higher education teachers from Burkina Faso, continues its journey with a visit to the National Museum. Previously, on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, they visited Samand©ni and the Guimbi Ouattara Mausoleum, and held a conference in Bobo-Dioulasso on the theme: "How can the educator contribute to restoring its image?".
