Houet: Community distributors crisscrossed the concessions of Satiri village from August 20 to 23, 2026, for the third round of the seasonal malaria chemoprevention campaign, in order to strengthen the protection of children aged 3 to 59 months against malaria.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during the operation, community distributors administered preventive medication to eligible children. They also screened for malnutrition, looked for possible edema, and identified and destroyed larval breeding sites. The teams also identified under-vaccinated children and raised awareness among parents about malaria prevention methods, including adherence to protective measures and proper administration of preventive medications.

The head nurse at the Satiri Health and Social Promotion Center, Bou© Dabou, urged parents to fully participate in the campaign. "The correct administration of preventive medication helps protect children against malaria during the peak seasonal transmission period," he emphasized. He also encouraged households to keep their properties clean and eliminate stagnant water that could encourage mosquito breeding.

Doulaye Traor©, the village's resource person, commented on the initiative, stating, "this campaign is a commendable initiative, given the efforts made by health authorities to strengthen the protection of children against malaria." He urged parents to facilitate the work of the distributors and to ensure that all eligible children participate.

Community distributor Amidou Traor© also called on parents to support health workers, noting that "some parents are still insufficiently informed about the importance of malaria prevention."
