Dapelogo: The National Gendarmerie officially assumed control from the National Police in the municipality of Dapelogo, marking the end of a 42-year chapter. The handover ceremony was held in the meeting room of the Dapelogo town hall, with the president of the Special Delegation of Dapelogo, Comrade Joseph Claver KADIO, presiding over the event.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the ceremony saw participation from several local authorities and representatives, including Comrade Mamounatou H©l¨ne NIGNAN, PDS of Ourgou-Manega, as well as administrative, customary, and religious leaders. The gathering also included members of the Defense and Security Forces, the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland, and key figures from the communes of Dapelogo and Ourgou-Manega.
Speakers at the ceremony highlighted the significance of this transition for the security arrangements in the municipality. They emphasized the necessity for collaboration between the security forces and the local community to ensure effective security measures.
During the handover, outgoing Police Lieutenant Joseph HARO commended the relationships built with local authorities and the community during the National Police's mission. He acknowledged the dedication of the police team and wished success to the National Gendarmerie in their future endeavors.
Chief Warrant Officer Ousmane ZAKSONDO, the new Brigade commander, reiterated the National Gendarmerie's commitment to safeguarding the people and property in Dapelogo. He stressed the importance of cooperation with the local population and all involved stakeholders in maintaining security.
The Dapelogo District Commissioner also expressed appreciation for the National Police's efforts over the past 42 years and extended a warm welcome to the National Gendarmerie. He urged the community to support the security forces in their mission.
This transition marks a new phase in the security organization of Dapelogo, as the National Gendarmerie takes over from the National Police, promising continued security and collaboration with the community.
