Ouagadougou: The clearing of the gutters at the central market is completed after three days of citizen mobilization. The work to clear the gutters inside and around the central market of Djibo ended on Saturday, August 29, 2026, after three days of citizen mobilization devoted to sanitation and improving the living environment.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the vast sanitation operation began on August 15 and continued on August 22 and 29, 2026. It brought together different components of the population to clean up the central market and its surroundings. Young people, the elderly, women, traders, civil servants, non-governmental organizations, Defense and Security Forces (FDS), Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP), and several other community actors participated in the work.
This participation highlights the community's commitment to preserving hygiene and improving the living environment. Hubert DRABO, the president of the Special Delegation of the Djibo municipality, commended all participants for their mobilization and commitment during the three days of work. He encouraged continued efforts to maintain cleanliness and improve sanitation in the municipality.
Although the clearing of the central market gutters is complete, the sanitation operation will extend to other areas of Djibo. The Special Delegation invited the population to remain mobilized and support initiatives for a cleaner city and a healthy living environment for its inhabitants.
