Ouagadougou: The populations of Doumbala, Zkuy, Dakuy, Konkuy-Boho, Mounakoro, Koa, and Boaknuy responded massively on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, to the call of the municipal authorities to contribute to the rehabilitation of the Doumbala-Zkuy-Dakuy road, which is in very poor condition.
According to Burkina Information Agency, this initiative follows the advanced deterioration of the Doumbala-Nouna road. For this first operation, more than fifty carts and tricycles were mobilized to transport the materials needed for the work. Armed with picks, shovels, hoes, and machetes, the participants proceeded to fill in the potholes, holes, and ravines that made traffic difficult on the road. Some dug and transported the soil, while others cut down shrubs and helped to fill in the various degraded areas.
A delegation from the commune of Doumbala, led by the vice-president of the special delegation, Eloi Dakio, went to the site to congratulate and encourage the participants. He stated that this initiative responds to the call of the Comrade President of Faso, who urges us to build our country by relying on our own strength. "The municipality is experiencing enormous difficulties, but these must not prevent us from moving forward and acting for its development," added Comrade Dakio.
The secretary general of the Doumbala departmental court, Cphace Dakio, present on the construction site, praised the mobilization of the people and the leadership of the PDS. 'We went out with what we had. We are making a heartfelt appeal to people of goodwill to come to our aid, whatever the nature of their contribution. If we get one or two dump trucks, the work will go faster,' he said.
For the village development advisor (CVD) of Doumbala, Ourouba Dakio, the mobilization reflects the support of the people for the call to rely on their own strength for the development of the country. "This crowd that came out today for this activity is proof of unity, understanding, and patriotism," he said, calling for more solidarity for the development of the community.
The work was carried out under the security of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP). At the end of the operation, the participants shared a community meal provided by the town hall.
