Ouagadougou: Members of the 7th Rapid Intervention Group (GIR) produced 2,500 paving stones in two hours on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, in Ddougou, thus contributing to the paving work initiated as part of Faso Mbo in the Bankui and Sourou regions.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the mobilization of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS) gave a boost to the production of paving stones on the Faso Mbo site in Ddougou on Wednesday, September 9, 2026. Responding to the call for mobilization launched as part of the operationalization of Faso Mbo, the elements of the Rapid Intervention Battalion No. 10 (BIR 10) of Ddougou took over the production site from the early hours of the morning to participate in the making of the paving stones.

The troop was led by the commander of the 7th GIR, Battalion Chief Paul Belem, accompanied by the commander of the BIR 10, Captain David W. Oudraogo, and the commander of the BIR 18, based in Solenzo, Captain Papa Parfait Kambou. The soldiers quickly got to work, and in two hours, they produced 2,500 paving stones, illustrating the effectiveness of an organized and disciplined mobilization.

However, this performance could have been better, according to site officials, who particularly deplore the lack of molds, a constraint that limits production capacity. The leaders of Faso Mbo in Ddougou are therefore calling on those of goodwill to strengthen the system with garment-making equipment. For them, increasing the number of mussels would significantly increase production and allow them to better capitalize on the various citizen mobilizations.

The participation of the 7th GIR thus reinforces the momentum initiated around Faso Mbo, where civilians and military personnel are called upon to combine their efforts to support development work in the Bankui and Sourou regions. With 2,500 paving stones produced in two hours, the FDS show that collective mobilization can give a real boost to production.
