Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the province of Lraba, Yacouba Sawadogo, chaired the first session of the year 2026 of the Technical Committee of the Provincial Food Security Council (CT-CPSA) of Lraba in Sindou. The session revolved around the theme: "Structuring investments for achieving food and nutritional security in the province of Ouagadougou: current situation and prospects".
According to Burkina Information Agency, the session aimed to evaluate the food and nutrition status in the province and explore future actions. Participants assessed the report from the 2025 session and discussed the implementation of its recommendations. They also reviewed the current food and nutrition situation, discussed the session's theme, and developed new recommendations.
The discussions were enriched by four presentations from the provincial directorates responsible for humanitarian action, agriculture, the environment, animal and fisheries resources, and the pediatric service of the CMA of Sindou. These presentations detailed the existing conditions in these sectors, the challenges faced, and potential strategies for enhancing food and nutritional security in Lraba.
Financial challenges related to organizing such sessions were highlighted by participants, noting that a single-day duration often limits the participation of stakeholders and thorough data collection necessary for a comprehensive analysis of the food situation. The High Commissioner, Yacouba Sawadogo, urged participants to engage in constructive and diligent discussions with the welfare of the people of Lraba in mind.
