Ouagadougou: The Peotenga Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS), in the commune of Yargo, Kourittenga province, officially began its medical services this Thursday, September 10, 2026, thus strengthening the access of local populations to basic health care.According to Burkina Information Agency, the head nurse, Wendlasida Issac Yougbaré, expressed her gratitude for the trust placed in her through this assignment. She also requested the support of local authorities to accomplish her public health mission. 'I wish to express my gratitude to my superiors for choosing me to lead this structure. I request the support and assistance of the local authorities to successfully carry out the mission entrusted to me,' said Yougbaré. The nurse invited the entire population of Peotenga and surrounding villages not to hesitate to come and get checked at the first sign of symptoms.The chief of the village of Peotenga, Naaba Boulga, welcomed the completion of this health project for the benefit of his constituents. He invited the community to preserve the facilities and to collaborate with health workers to ensure the sustainability of the establishment. 'The opening of this health facility is an important step for our community. I invite all residents to frequent the center, to take care of the facilities and to collaborate closely with the medical team for the well-being of our village,' said Naaba Boulga.The Chairman of the Health Management Committee (COGES), Adama Ouéda, pledged to mobilize the necessary resources and to collaborate closely with the medical team to ensure the continued smooth operation of the structure. 'It is a complete satisfaction for us to see this center open its doors today. At the COGES level, we promise to do everything possible and give our best so that the activities and management of the CSPS take place under the best conditions,' he said.Community-based health worker (CBHW), Guinri Sandwidi, emphasized her role as a liaison between the health structure and the population. She confir med her willingness to continue awareness-raising, prevention, and referral activities to promote early patient care. 'As ASBCs, our role is to act as a liaison between health workers and the community. I remain committed to continuing the work of informing, raising awareness and directing families to the CSPS in order to ensure rapid care for users,' said Sandwidi.
