Zondoma: The women of the Pagb Yidigri Waya group carried out a cleanup operation on Thursday, September 11, 2026, at the Gourcy Medical Center with Surgical Unit (CMA) in Zondoma province. They also donated cleaning supplies to the health facility.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Asmos Mand, president of the Pagb Yidigri Waya women's group in Gourcy, expressed that this initiative stems from the women's intention to enhance cleanliness and improve the conditions for patient care at the largest medical center in the Zondoma province. "For us, a clean center means dignified care for patients. This is our way of participating in the collective effort for health," she stated.

The women concluded their effort by donating 20 liters of bleach, liquid soap, and detergent, which they had produced themselves with the backing of the rural world association.

Upon receiving the donation, Constantin Bassana Bationo, the Chief Medical Officer of the Gourcy health district, praised the women for their community-focused initiative and urged them to continue their solidarity efforts for communal benefit. "Your gesture touches me deeply, as it reminds us that health is everyone's responsibility. By taking care of this center, you are taking care of your sisters, your mothers, and your children. I am grateful and I pray that God blesses and strengthens your projects," remarked Dr. Bationo.

Similar to Pagb Yidigri Waya, other women's groups have been established by the Rural World Association (AMR) in collaboration with the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to implement Income Generating Activities (IGAs) under Project OP 515. This project focuses on health, sexual and reproductive rights, protection, and the socio-economic empowerment of women amidst the crisis in Northern Burkina Faso.
