Nahouri: The Lions Club Ouagadougou Phoenix District 403 A3 organized on Saturday, September 5, 2026, in the commune of Tibl, a series of charitable activities as part of a reforestation organized every year in their grove located in the village of Lo-Longo in the presence of administrative and customary authorities and the president for the 2026-2027 term, Geoffroy Bationo.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the Lions Club Ouagadougou Phoenix 50, district 403 A3, revived its annual tradition by going to the commune of Tibl on Saturday, September 5, 2026, to carry out a series of activities. The day was filled with reforestation efforts, vision screening, donation of glasses, school supplies, and sanitation equipment to the town hall of Tibl, culminating in a statutory and community meal.
The first act of this outing in the community was the screening of eyesight and the donation of corrective glasses to more than a hundred vulnerable people who were screened. Additionally, the second vice-president of the special delegation of Tibl, Louss Pouakia, received sanitation equipment for the benefit of the municipality.
Club members then proceeded to the village of Lo-Longo, located about ten kilometers east of Tibl-Centre, where a large-scale mobilization awaited them. They were welcomed with local music, led by their traditional chief, and visited their grove established 14 years ago.
The Chief of the village of L´-Longo expressed gratitude towards the Lions delegation, emphasizing the long-standing friendship and the benefits of the grove to the community. He highlighted the relief provided by the annual donation of school supplies to students, which eases the burden on parents.
Geoffroy Bationo, the club's president for the 2026-2027 term, conveyed satisfaction with the activities. He noted the village's enthusiasm and interest in the club's initiatives, as demonstrated by the protection of the seedlings planted by the community.
