APEC Delegates Engage Tapoa Stakeholders on Community Shareholding Challenges

Ouagadougou: Provincial delegates of the AC-APEC Cooperative Society met with key stakeholders in the Tapoa region on Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Diapaga, to discuss the challenges and benefits of community share ownership. The goal was to secure their support for the initiative. The meeting was held under the auspices of High Commissioner Ren Karambiri, accompanied by Soali Ouali, First Vice-President of the Diapaga Special Delegation.

According to Burkina Information Agency, during the session, the day's speakers, Karim Ouali and Nestor Yonli, addressed the audience on topics such as the definition of popular shareholding, the objectives of APEC (Agency for the Promotion of Community Entrepreneurship), its vision for Tapoa, the advantages linked to this investment model, and the importance of citizen involvement.

For five hours, community leaders, young people, women, and economic operators were made aware of the functioning and opportunities linked to this mechanism. Comrade Ouali emphasized that the objective was to better equip the participants so that they could in turn relay the information to their fellow citizens.

For the communications team, APEC intends to make popular shareholding a lever for local development. They believe that a good understanding of the initiative by the population is essential for its success. "It is our role, as delegates, to bring the information to the grassroots level," they explained.

For the two facilitators, equity crowdfunding offers every resident of Tapoa the opportunity to become a shareholder in the cooperative. "By subscribing, we become co-owners and active participants in the growth of our district. APEC thus aims to mobilize local savings to finance local development projects, creating jobs and wealth for the benefit of the population," the speakers stated.

It also aims to promote solidarity and economic self-sufficiency among young people. Mass participation in this scheme primarily allows citizens to benefit from dividends and to have a say in projects implemented in their communities.

Finally, participants received explanations regarding registration requirements, the cost, required documents, and payment methods. A fundraising campaign has also been launched throughout the province.
