Residents of Sala Unite to Enhance Road Safety on National Route No. 10

Ouagadougou: Residents of Sala mobilized to clear the area around the RN10. Residents of Sala, in the municipality of Satiri, mobilized on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to clear the area around National Route No. 10 (RN10), in order to improve visibility for drivers and help reduce the risk of accidents.

According to Burkina Information Agency, armed with machetes and other tools, residents cleared the clumps of grass, shrubs, and foliage that had overgrown the roadside. The operation aims to improve visibility for drivers and enhance road safety.

The initiative is part of citizen actions carried out with the support of municipal, administrative, customary and religious authorities, as well as the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) and all those committed to the development of the commune of Satiri.

The president of the Sala Village Development Council (CVD), Bakary Sanou, praised the presence and support of the authorities, the security forces, and the volunteers, as well as the strong mobilization of the population. He described this operation as "an act of patriotism," before inviting the residents of other villages and municipalities to follow Sala's example by increasing their citizen initiatives in support of security and local development.
