Ouagadougou: The president of the Special Delegation (PDS) of the commune of Sangha, Mamadou Coulibaly, accompanied by local officials, made a visit on Saturday, September 12, 2026, to the agricultural fields of the Volunteers for the Defense of the Homeland (VDP) in the commune, in order to inquire about the progress of the work and to encourage the producers.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the delegation visited three farms, including a three-hectare cornfield, a two-and-a-half-hectare bean field, and a one-and-a-half-hectare rice plot. In the bean field, the delegation observed a partial invasion by weeds, requiring weeding and maintenance operations to promote better flowering and, consequently, better yields.
The PDS of Sangha, Mamadou Coulibaly, praised the efforts made by the fighters engaged in agricultural production to contribute to food self-sufficiency. He encouraged them to remain focused and determined despite the difficulties encountered during the agricultural campaign, while urging them to continue maintenance work, including weeding, to improve yields.
The chairman of the Sangha Village Development Council (CVD), Luc Koara, encouraged young producers to maintain their commitment and dynamism until the end of the campaign. Dioukou Dibri, head of agricultural VDP in Sangha, expressed his gratitude to the authorities and resource persons for their various forms of support. "We received help, including seeds, insecticide, and the transport of fertilizer to the site," he said.
The municipal authorities reaffirmed their willingness to support the agricultural VDPs in their efforts to strengthen local production and contribute to food security in the municipality.
