Ioba: The municipality of Zambo has appointed two representatives to the Man Tchara Local Grouping for Cross-Border Cooperation (GLCT). The special delegation of Zambo appointed its president, Tassere Badini, and Blaise Dabire as representatives during the second extraordinary session held on September 10, 2026.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session, chaired by President Tassere Badini, focused on fostering cross-border cooperation between Burkina Faso and the Republic of Ghana. The delegation members reviewed and adopted the governing documents of the GLCT Man Tchara, including the convention, statutes, and internal regulations.

The Man Tchara GLCT aims to enhance cooperation among local authorities from Burkina Faso and Ghana, specifically involving the communes of Nako, Dissihn, Koper, Ouessa, and Zambo on the Burkinabe side, and the municipalities and district assemblies of Nandom, Lawra, and Lamboussie in Ghana's Upper West region. The goal is to facilitate joint initiatives that benefit the local populations.

The appointment of Tassere Badini and Blaise Dabire as Zambo's representatives was part of efforts to address the objectives of the GLCT. Additionally, the session included a presentation by Tibouo-ion Romaric Some, the provincial director of preschool, primary, and non-formal education in Ioba, focusing on non-formal education and community resilience.

The presentation underscored the importance of non-formal education and community resilience, emphasizing the need for community involvement in education and social cohesion. The session also addressed the amendment and adoption of previous session minutes, the examination of draft legal texts for the GLCT, and various other matters.
