Ouagadougou: The Thomas Sankara International Memorial Committee has announced the precautionary suspension of one of its members, Samdpawend Oudraogo, following his repeated public statements on social media.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the suspension was revealed in a press release after Oudraogo's hearing before the Steering Committee. He is accused of frequently sharing content and statements from a public figure, which have allegedly led to confusion regarding the organization's official positions. The precautionary measure aims to mitigate any further misunderstandings while an investigation is underway.

The press release emphasized that this suspension does not determine the outcome of the ongoing investigation or the final decision, which will be based on the committee's regulations. The case has been forwarded to the Internal Control and Disciplinary Committee (CCDI) for thorough review. The CCDI will conduct proceedings while respecting adversarial principles and Oudraogo's defense rights. Their findings will ultimately be presented to the General Assembly as per the institution's statutes.

The Thomas Sankara International Memorial Committee has urged Oudraogo to clarify his stance on the Popular Progressive Revolution's dynamics. The committee also called on all members to act responsibly in their public communications and to reaffirm their dedication to Burkina Faso's ongoing revolutionary efforts.
