Ouagadougou: The High Commissioner of the province of Tuy, Issiaka Segda, officially launched the educational animation days for teachers of general secondary education on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, in Hound. These professional development days are centered around vocational training and scientific and technological education.
According to Burkina Information Agency, these days are being held under the theme: "Implementing reforms in secondary education: developing skills through vocational training and scientific and technological education." High Commissioner Issiaka Segda emphasized the importance of transforming these discussions into actionable strategies. He encouraged participants to engage in frank and constructive exchanges characterized by rigorous scientific inquiry.
The High Commissioner highlighted the significance of these professional development days as a major event on the educational calendar, aligning with the strategic ambitions of Burkina Faso's authorities. He urged educational supervisors to play a central role in supporting teachers, guiding discussions, and developing innovative teaching strategies for immediate implementation in schools. Segda also commended education stakeholders for the academic achievements in Tuy Province's recent school examinations and entrance exams.
Seydou Traor, the provincial director of secondary, vocational, and technical education for Tuy, expressed appreciation for the participation of stakeholders. He noted that their involvement would enable reaching a broader audience and enrich exchanges during the workshops. The training in Tuy province sees the participation of more than 500 secondary school teachers, divided into two cohorts.
