Ouagadougou: As part of the activities marking the close of the major tourism season, the Ministry of Communication, Culture, Arts and Tourism (MCCAT) organized a tourist excursion on Saturday at the National Museum of Burkina Faso for the children of its staff, in order to offer them an opportunity to discover and learn about Burkinabe cultural heritage.

According to Burkina Information Agency, this first edition responds to the department's desire to strengthen cohesion between agents, considered as a "family" because of the long hours spent in service to the country, by involving their children in cultural activities. MCCAT Secretary General Moctar Sanfo encouraged the children to be curious and ask questions during their visit to the exhibition halls, with the aim of sharing their discoveries with their families and at school.

For Raymond Silga, Director of Human Resources at MCCAT, the outing was both a moment of relaxation and an opportunity to share knowledge about national culture. Participants discovered, in particular, traditional methods of building houses and ancestral ironworking techniques. Silga emphasized the importance of this excursion as a temple of knowledge transmission between generations.

Mr. Silga expressed his hope that this initiative would be continued in the coming years, while encouraging parents to visit museums more often, which were presented as essential spaces for discovering national history and culture.

For Amandine Abga, a participant, the outing was particularly enriching. She praised the initiative which allowed her and her classmates to discover the traditional ironworking process and several masks exhibited at the museum. Amandine expressed her desire for similar outings in the future, highlighting the educational value of the experience.

The excursion is thus part of a dynamic of promoting cultural heritage and transmitting knowledge to younger generations.
