Zondoma: Participants in the Zoundwogo Educational Animation Days (JAP) were invited on Friday, September 18, 2026, in Manga, to translate into classroom practices the knowledge gained from the three days of training devoted to secondary education reforms.
According to Burkina Information Agency, the JAP event, held from September 16 to 18, 2026, in Manga, gathered 769 teachers, including 168 women. The discussions centered on the development of scientific and technological education, the promotion of vocational and technical training, and the integration of information and communication technologies in education.
Participants expressed satisfaction with the relevance of the communications and exchanges, which deepened their understanding of the education system reforms. The discussions highlighted the necessity to align learning with economic and job market needs, strengthen professional skills, improve teaching practices, and utilize digital tools effectively.
Georgette Nikima, the provincial director of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training of Zoundwogo, praised the participants' commitment and urged them to implement the conclusions from the work with conviction and rigor in their establishments. Quoting the Minister in charge of Secondary Education, Vocational and Technical Training, she emphasized that the educational animation days only hold value if the acquired knowledge is applied concretely in classrooms during the school year.
She further noted that Burkinabe schools require equipped and convinced teachers to contribute to societal transformation and meet national expectations. Nikima highlighted the national ambition to increase the proportion of learners in technical and vocational education and training from 5% to 60% by 2050, reflecting the desire to align training with productive sector needs.
Pauline Maya Zoungrana, a JAP participant, found the training rich in innovative teachings and crucial for achieving objectives. She wished for more time to be allocated to certain sessions for better content understanding. Yacouba Oudraogo, another participant, commended efforts to align education with job market needs and stressed the importance of language teaching for facilitating knowledge access, workplace communication, digital resource use, and learner mobility.
